Project Summary:
We invited 8 children from Cherry Garden School across to our Peckham studio once per week for 10 weeks to learn aerial silks, hoop and trapeze.
Overrall aims:
We wanted to show disabled children from Cherry Garden School that aerial and circus is for them. We ran play- focused sessions where we followed the children's interests, allowing them to safely explore the kit; building their confidence.
The children (and staff) have absolutely loved the sessions, every week they come bursting back into school to tell us all about it. The Early Years children have to walk past my office to go out and they can't wait to get there, and they can't wait to tell me about it when they get back! - Acting Assistant Head
